06:30 – Meeting with the guide at the hotel.
Departure from Moscow. Overview excursion of Moscow.
10:00 – Arrival to Gzhel small town.
Gzhel is native Russian folk craft, when ceramic or porcelain painted in a special way: blue paint on a flawless white background.
This famous folk craft got its name from the village of the same name.
Excursion to the production and museum of Gzhel Porcelain Factory

Production of Ceramic goods in Gzhel near Moscow is known from written sources since the XIV century, but according to the findings of archaeologists on the banks of the Gzhel river, on the sites of ancient man and more than 2000 years ago there were engaged in ceramic fishing. This area is unique: on the surface of the earth there are different clays: red, gray and white and from these clays otters made their works for a long history of local masters, which glorified 30 different Gzhel villages.
11:00 – Master class on Gzhel painting (45 minutes)

12:15 – Lunch at cafe / restaurant
13:30 – Departure to Pavlovsky Posad, a quiet, cozy Russian town, located 60 kilometers from Moscow.
14:00 – Sightseeing tour of “The Museum of the history of Russian shawl”

History of Russian shawl starts at the end of the XVII century.
For the first time the Pavlovo-Posad factory for the production of scarves with the author’s printed pattern was mentioned in 1795.
You will learn who and how wore scarves, where they come from, the history of the people who created and wore them. You will see life of the old merchant cities, factories, artists, calico-printer, the former owners of these unique shawls.
15:00 – Master class on hand-printed pattern on fabric

Pavlovsky Posad has long been famous for silk, wool blend and woolen printed shawls. Handkerchief-making production in Russia began to develop in the XIX century. The pattern was applied to the fabric with the help of wooden printed boards and paints. Manual printing was given the opportunity to create shawls with the finest multi-color bright patterns. Each color was made its stamping board. The total number of colors in one shawl was 10-12, in some patterns it even reached 20 colors. So was born each scarf, made by hand.
In the workshop of the museum you will have a unique opportunity to try yourself as a printmaker drawing on fabric. With the help of paints and wooden printed boards, a souvenir handkerchief or napkin with its unique composition and pattern will be created by you!
