08.00 – Meeting with the guide at the hotel.
Transfer 160 kilometers to the Moscow region in the city of Zaraysk.
10.00 – Arrival in Zaraysk.
Sightseeing tour of the city
The ancient city is located on the banks of the Sturgeon River. The first ones mentioning the city by the name of Sturgeon are found in chronicles in 1146. In the XVI century, Zaraysk was an important defensive center of the lands of the Moscow region. Then the Zaraisk Kremlin was erected, they began to build roads, gardens, settlements, shopping arcades. From the 17th to the 19th centuries, Zaraysk became a shopping center, a city of crafts and crafts.
Zaraysk today is a small provincial city in Russia, typical of a country with a population of about 22 thousand.
There are several interesting historical buildings in the city:
• Trinity Cathedral, erected in stone in 1778;
• Source “White Well”, revered by all believers as healing
• The building of the Gostiny Dvor XVII century;
• A miniature (125 × 185 meters) battle Zaraysk Kremlin was built in 1528-1531 and is fully preserved to this day.
The charm of the city, including in its small streets, old merchant’s wooden houses and the special leisurely atmosphere of the local population.
13.00-14.00 – Lunch in a restaurant with Russian cuisine. Traditional Russian menu: vegetable salad with vegetable oil, borsch, chicken chop with mashed potatoes, pie, bread, coffee / tea, mineral water.
14.00-16.00 – Sightseeing tour of the state museum complex “Zaraysk Kremlin”
The Kremlin is a monument of Russian defense architecture of the early 16th century, preserved intact.
The Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker contains the oldest icon of 1225 of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.
16.00-18.00 – Matreshka painting master class
You will learn the history of the souvenir symbol of Russia. About the different painting styles of the classic nesting dolls. What materials do the master need? At a minimum, this is a wooden blank, paints, brushes. But there is still something. You will go through all the stages of the painting process in person, then to take the actual manufactured product with you as a souvenir.
18.00 – Transfer to Moscow.
20.00 – End of the tour at your hotel.
