Day 1 - Saint-Petersburg

Day 3 - Saint-Petersburg

City tour to explore the famous sights of Saint Petersburg and have the excursion to Peter and Paul Fortress.

The city was founded in 1703 by Tsar Peter 1 and named after Saint Peter. Initially, it was built as a defensive fortress.

Since 1712, when the city was proclaimed the capital of the Russian Empire, St. Petersburg has become the embodiment of the new, modern, Western culture and way of life.

Tsar Peter personally built this fortress in 1703, when he founded the Saint Petersburg. For three centuries this fortress, named after saints Peter and Paul, played “different roles” in the city’s history. It was a fortification building, surrounded by 6 powerful fortress bastions and a deep moat; a political prison; a monument of history and culture of Russia.
You visit the Cathedral Square of the Peter and Paul Fortress the oldest church in St. Petersburg. During the reign of Peter 1 Peter and Paul Cathedral became the burial place for the Romanov dynasty — Russian emperors and empresses from Peter I to Nicholas II are buried there.

You visit political prison of 19-th century.

Day 4 - Saint-Petersburg

Today you will have an exciting day. You will go beyond the nature of St. Petersburg to the city of Pushkin (approximately 40 km.) to visit the summer country residence of the Russian tsars, the Catherine Palace, as a VIP guest.
You visit The Catherine Palace as VIP guest entrance through the a ceremonial “Golden Gate”, which opened specially for your group (Normally its closed to other visitors). The transport will stop and pick-up right in front of it.

You will enter the Grand Throne Room via its grand staircase. With an area of 800 square meters, a ceiling height of 9 meters and 300 mirrors along the perimeter, this grand hall delights and aesthetically excites. These feelings will not leave you when the guide takes you along the Golden Enfilade to the Amber Room through the Cavalier’s Dining Room, the Portrait Hall and the small Amber Room measuring 96 square meters. Words are not enough to describe its beauty. It seems that modern stone masters have done the impossible, having restored the original example of 18th century art. The tour of the enfilade of the Catherine Palace continues in the living rooms of various purposes – Chinese, Green, White. The walls of the latter are covered with white damask, giving this room a special splendor.

A horseback riding tour through Catherine Park will add unusual emotions to your day in Pushkin. Along the Big Lake and the Big Cascade Ponds in the Glass Landau carriage you will see the territory of Catherine Park with the buildings of the 18th century, which the royal family used during their life in the suburbs of St. Petersburg. The pavilions “Grotto”, “Admiralty”, “Turkish Bath”, “Cold Bath”, Cameron Gallery.

After lunch transfer to your hotel to stay there for relax or to have self explore time in the city centre of Saint Petersburg.
